Hiraeth
I long for the summer days,
Days that brought ecstasy,
When everything was alright
And the summer house I lived in
Was not a mirage.
As I look around me at present,
The memories of the summer days,
Keep rushing back to my mind,
Filling me in with warmth,
Making me frolic in glee.
Recollections keep replaying in my mind,
Of the afternoons that I had spent,
Decorating my hideaway,
A place in the depths of the forest,
That resided in my soul.
The hideaway may have vanished from existence,
But my mind remains fresh
With the memories of the mornings spent,
Under the rays of the sun,
In the house that is a mere illusion.
The house that is now,
My hiraeth.
