History In Your Eyes

Image
Possibilities along the blank spaces, As endless as one can be. They reveal a thousand secrets, Without disclosing any. A silent utterance of words, That are simply non existent to many. What a world it would be, If we start paying attention to the spaces, Spaces that have no clear meaning. Just imagine, How it would be, If we all tried to fill in the spaces, With words we never said. And rewrite history, With moments we choose to live. Zero plans, zero calculations, Just a reimagination of the world, Along the empty spaces. That enclose the hidden history. Open your eyes to the unseen reality, Stories hidden from all eyes, Except for your bright and colourful eyes. Illustrated by: Vanshika Mukherjee Written by: Vanshika Mukherjee

Send Me Your Flowers

Image
I stand here,  In the middle of this field, With no flowers in sight, Just a piece of land, Covered in grass, Green as ever, But it looks incomplete. Would you send me your flowers? So that I can nourish them with love, And send a gift of solace, To your city soul. Stuck in between the concrete and tall buildings, With only one escape, The four walls of your dim-lit room. How sweet would it be,  To have a garden bloom, With your flowers, That never got to see the sun, Under the smoke of the city, Where the streets were too loud, But you chose the silence of being alone. Every flower that blooms, Would be a reminder, Of everything you are left to see. And your city soul, Would find a place of its own, Where it can live, breathe and grow. Little by little, One flower at a time. So tell me, Would you send me your flowers? Illustration by: Vanshika Mukherjee  Written by: Vanshika Mukherjee

Poetry: A World Of Wonder

Image
Poetry, What a fancy word. Something that the world admires, But only a few understand. What is poetry? Poetry is life, Life from the perspective of a living soul. It is the array of words, Written under the influence, Of an aromatic cup of coffee. It is the yearning for a loved one, And the warmth of a soulful embrace. It can take any shape or form, It can make you cry, or jump in joy. Poetry is a world of the unknown, No one knows what it really means, But we all know that it exists, Maybe that is all poetry is. A proof that we all exist. A symbol of life. But what really is poetry? I guess we'll never know. Illustration by: Vanshika Mukherje Written by: Vanshika Mukherjee

Begin Again

Image
Soaked myself to the bone, With the need to write, Everyday, every hour. Fill myself with ideas, And put them on a paper. But somewhere along the way, I forgot to feel, Forgot the live life. Became a robot, And words stopped coming to me. So, I took some time off, To revive the essence, Of what I stand for. To live life,  To feel anything, And everything, a day at a time. It's been quite a while, But I'm overjoyed, Because I started to feel again, And words started to blossom from my soul. I think it's almost time, To start a new chapter, It's almost time, To Begin Again. I'm so excited to share more of my poetry with all of you and immensely grateful for your support. See you very soon!

Cue The Nostalgia

Image
Classroom that I visited everyday, Still so fresh in my head, Are all the hustle and bustle of the class, Creaking furniture, whispering classmates, Lectures of the teachers, ticking of the clock, Tick-tock, tick-tock, It flew by so quickly, My time at what I believed , Was my second home, school. What hurts me the most, Is that I never got closure, To all my years in school. It started with jolly ride, And ended over a zoom call. What has life come to? 14 years of my life came to an end, With the click of a 'ending meeting' button. But I have no choice, I'll have to pick up the pieces, And step into a new phase of life. But I do have something to say, To the countless days i spent at school, "You are my hardest goodbye". Illustration by : Vanshika Mukherjee Written by : Vanshika Mukherjee

Forever Is A Lie

Image
As i open my eyes, I see the overcast skies, Reaching out for you, With my unfurled arms, Ringing in my head, Are the muffled alarms, Telling me that time is over. Because forever was never a thing. Flying with the power of our memories, But suddenly, I fall to the ground, With pain gushing through my veins, You in my heart, the only the thing that remains. A Gift Of Solace

Image
I bleed in tears, Every time I think, Of the people who cry, Without a shoulder to lean on. The world is so unfair, Thousand admirers for millionaires, The poor, with no one to care. I wish I could, Soak all your tears in a cloud, And make it rain, To wash away your distress. Loneliness is vexatious, I know, But with these words, My heart goes out to everyone. I write these words, With a hidden promise, That you will one day, Find a home to stay, With a person to gift you solace, And you will smile, With a heart full of content. Cardigan

Image
Found an old cardigan, Feels like an old friend, Who engulfed me in their warm arms, And offered me a trip down the memory lane. It held me closely in dark times,  With unwavering tenderness.  Got spashled with paints from my palette,  But still remained mellow on my skin.  So many car rides and footprints,  And unexplained silences,  Spent with it draped around me.  All these years,  It was hiding in my wardrobe,  So I could find it one day and say,  I'm glad you always stayed.  Illustration by: Vanshika Mukherjee  Written by : Vanshika Mukherjee

Subtle Spring

Image
Meet me by the lake, We'll read fairytale and folklore,  With little daisies in our hair, We'll get lost in the nostalgia, Of the frosty winter, And lay on the sage grass, Serenaded by sweet sounds of the surroundings. The cherry blossoms in the distance, Are a gentle reminder, That better days have come. Let's frolic in the open fields, Till our legs give out, And enjoy the little things, That the spring has gifted to us. Illustration by: Vanshika Mukherjee Written by: Vanshika Mukherjee

Heart : An Enchanter

Image
A heart that beats, Has a soul that grows, Fights battles on its own, Makes its strengths known. The delicacy of the heart,  Is an unfathomable art.  A heart holds power, so gentle,  Yet so wily,  It could weave you into a web of love,  That you can never fall out of. It breaks when people leave our side,  But still beats, like a broken record,  As a reminder that you have yourself,  Today, tomorrow and forever,  Even when they say forever is an illusion.  Illustration by: Vanshika Mukherjee  Written by: Vanshika Mukherjee
